Brazilian
mahogany bass guitar neck. Quarter sawn with tight
and straight grain, light / medium weight, very stiff with huge tap tone.
Brazilian mahogany is also known as Honduran or American mahogany. We bought this
from a 3 generation carpentry shop that closed in 1974. We were told that this
was there for some time, so it is hard to tell the exact age but we estimate to
be more than 50 years old.
